NIGERIAN GO TO THE POLLS |
Ahead of the March 28th 2015 presidential elections in Nigeria, I just found out today that I am actually confused for the first time in my life.
I may not be the only one confused of this because it appears every Nigerian is confused.
Because if we are not all confused, we will not be going about the campaigns the way we have been going about it.
The two parties (although, there are 12 other parties in the race, I don't know if they are in the race or beside the race. Well, that is a discourse for March 30) contesting the elections, APC and PDP have continued the whole of Nigeria with promises of things which they will do for Nigerians if given the mandate.
APC on its part is shouting "CHANGE"
while PDP is shouting "TRANSFORMATION"
>...it was not of recent that I began asking myself the difference between the two. Ever since the campaigns began, it appeared Nigerians lost the pages of their dictionaries containing the meaning to those two words or is it just confusion???
Everywhere the PDP train goes to, people keep on shouting "we want transformation"
and anywhere the APC train moves, the chants are "we want change".
Someone please help me out here, is there any difference between the two? or is the difference only to me. Because, I just found out recently that the page in my dictionary containing the definition of transformation was folded (apparently by someone as curious as Ada Monique), which was why I was unable to decipher the meanings.
If there is a difference between the two, I want to know which one of them is worthwhile so that I could know which side to direct my pendulum on March 28th.
But, if there is actually no difference, then, we the electorates are of all men the most miserable. Because, we have blindly and sheepishly allowed ourselves to be drawn into this "no-difference-campaigns".
If there is no difference, then, the election is not worth all the tensions because the two men are promising the same.
So, on March 28th, whichever side the tide sweeps to the end result is sure let us accept it in good fate and work towards the set-out goal.
